Insurance cover for businesses
Information on International Health Insurance.
We no longer provide this health Insurance.
If you are wanting international cover, first check your cover on your medical aid ( some of the schemes give you 90 days international cover).
Thereafter, your best bet is to google for “international health insurance”.
This type of cover is mostly used by expats and by business people that are travelling extensively. Also, by younger people that are travelling and required to have cover.
There are some schemes that have a membership residing in South Africa. However, the membership is very small as they are not South African registered medical aid schemes.
Health Insurance is able to use methods for risk control which the South African schemes no longer can. Like exclusions of conditions, none acceptance of people with high health risks and so on.
(Please remember that International health insurance is “insurance”, so it is not regulated by the South African Medical Schemes Act).
