Suspension of Council for Medical Schemes General Manager for Compliance and Investigations

The Council for Medical Schemes has announced the precautionary suspension of Mr. Stephen Mmatli.

Mr Mmatli has been suspended on full pay, pending the investigation of serious acts of misconduct.

An anonymous tip off has alleged that Mr Mmatli has been involved in corrupt relationships with organisations regulated by the CMS.
Secondly, that he has misled the Council to take decisions in favour of those organisations and that he has benefited financially from this.
Similiar allegations have been lodged with the Special Investigations Unit.
The anouncement was made by the Council for Medical Schemes through Circular 11 of 2019. which you can find on their site.
